Here is a time when the internet machine so totally lets us down, folks. Pictures do not do this fiery phoenix justice. Por examplee, Ethel C. is not a two-dimensional ladyluck; she’s a 4+ dimensional, 22nd century plaything. Man alive! This ‘do is doing her well. It’s kickass. Head-on, the first photo says nothing. To truly appreciate, we must spin her around and flip her over; we must lay on the shag carpeting of her Logan Square apartment whilst listening to Sigur Ros and the traffic below.

This is a case of the drapes very much matching the windows! That is, Ethel’s funky cut and color are a great fit with her geek-chic glasses. We’d love to sit down with her over a beer and talk about Kafka, German electronica and where she got that fabulous copper color done. It reflects the light beautifully and works well with her complexion. The contrast between her strong fringe and shaggy ends is very avant-garde — the perfect style for someone who wants to make a statement.
